Community Support
For community support please visit the sourceforge.net Project page to access the mailing lists and bug trackers.
If you want to submit a bug then the bug tracker would be the best way (and make sure to log onto sourceforge so that we can reply to you).
For general support the mailing lists are the best way. Please do subscribe at least to the anouncement mailing list to keep informed about updates!.
How to actually get support
If you ask about a development version and don't use the latest version then we will tell you to please try again with the latest version. ReaR undergoes heavy development and your issue might be already resolved.
When asking about ReaR it is very important that you also provide the following information with each request:
- ReaR version and how you installed it
- all configuration files that you modified (in
/etc/rear). Please put all you configuration into eithersite.conforlocal.confas the other*.conffiles are subject to change without notice. - most important the ReaR log file
/tmp/rear.logand the console output - how to contact you for further inquiries. We do tend to ignore anonymous bug reports that lack all the relevant information...
Reast assured that we also don't like bugs in ReaR and are very thankful for every bug or suggestion you send us.

However, if for some reasons companies would like to get commercial support or contract consulting services we strongly advise to contact the authors who invested a lot in the creation of ReaR:
